Why Sizing Matters Most
A tankless unit is sized by two things. The first is flow rate, meaning how many gallons per minute it can heat. The second is temperature rise, meaning how much it has to warm the cold water coming into your home.
Picture a shower running while the washing machine fills. If the unit is too small, the shower turns lukewarm. If it's too big, you've paid for power you'll never use. So the plumber looks at how many bathrooms you have, which fixtures run together, and how cold your incoming water is. Then they recommend a size.
